How Can We Help? *

// Overview

My Handyman Columbus has been serving homeowners and businesses across Columbus, Ohio since 1987. With 38+ years in business, 560+ completed projects, and credentials including BBB accreditation and Angi Super Service Awards, they had the track record. Their site was running on an outdated template with a COVID-19 banner from 2020 still on the homepage, broken shortcodes, and a blog last updated in 2019.

Janszen Media rebuilt the site from the ground up and took over digital advertising, delivering a modern, lead-generating presence and 186 tracked leads in the first 90 days.

// Services

// Challenges

  • The site hadn’t been touched in years. Multiple sections with broken code.

  • FAQ page displayed a broken shortcode instead of actual questions

  • Commercial page listed 15+ client names with no photos and a broken image gallery

  • No service area pages, limited content on service pages, no way to find the site locally

// Results

  • 186 leads in 90 days, averaging 2.1 per day, since Janszen Media took over the website and digital ads

  • Individual service pages for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, decks, and more with real project photos

  • Service area pages for 10 Columbus suburbs targeting local search

  • Google Local Service Ads generating 124 leads at approx. $20 per lead in 30 days

The Challenges

My Handyman Columbus had been in business since 1987 with a client list that included Costco, PetSmart, and Arby’s. None of that was visible on the site in any meaningful way. The commercial page listed client names in two columns of plain text with a broken slideshow where photos should have been. The FAQ page displayed the raw shortcode `[accordions id=”380″]` instead of actual questions. The blog had not been updated since 2019.

Beyond the broken content, the site had no individual service pages, no service area pages, and no way to appear in local searches across the Columbus suburbs where the bulk of their customers live.

The Solution

Janszen Media rebuilt the site around two goals: establish credibility immediately for anyone who lands on the page, and give the business a way to be found across all the Columbus suburbs it serves.

  • Individual service pages for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, home additions, decks, maintenance repairs, and commercial services, each with real project photography, scope details, and FAQs
  • Service area pages for 10 Columbus suburbs including Dublin, Westerville, Hilliard, Powell, Gahanna, and Delaware, each built for local search
  • Our Company page with 38+ years and 560+ projects prominently displayed alongside a 4-step process and team photography
  • Our Work portfolio replacing the old broken gallery with real project photos by category
  • Google reviews integration surfacing the 4.5-star rating on every page
  • Quote form with service type, zip code, and how they heard about us, embedded on every page type
  • Google Local Service Ads launched alongside the redesign, generating 124 leads at $24.29 per lead in 30 days

The Result

My Handyman Columbus went from a site with a live COVID banner and broken shortcodes to a full-service digital presence in one of Columbus’s most competitive home services markets. In the 90 days since launch, Janszen Media tracked 186 total leads: 61 from the website directly and 124 from Local Service Ads, at an average of $24.29 per lead.

For a business that had no prior lead tracking, the 186 figure represents a baseline that will only grow as SEO builds and the new service area pages gain ranking.
